Good habits to find for your first days of school

The leaves are reaching a stop, and the school year's start is hovering. This is a critical moment for your little one and yourself: starting kindergarten. To cope with this stage, we offer some advice: your child's sleep, diet, and good habits to adopt so that his first return to school goes as smoothly as possible.

This is his first comeback!

In a few days, your little one will set foot in school for many years. It's a course that some parents may apprehend based on their school memories. How to best prepare toddlers? Supplies and clothing have indeed caught your attention. Finding schedules, sufficient sleep, and a varied and healthy diet is also part of the start of the school year. A child fed healthily rested approaches learning in better conditions.

A week before

We try to reset the rhythm of the child. The alarm clock is done earlier and earlier to advance the bedtime as well. A young child needs 11 to 13 hours of sleep a day. Count a week to ten days of rehabilitation, especially if you come back from abroad with jet lag.

Being firm on the nap is an essential complement at this age. Leave your child alone in semi-darkness, with a book if he refuses to sleep. Try to respect the meal times that will punctuate the school year: lunch at 12.30 p.m. to anticipate the canteen, early dinner (around 7 p.m.) to avoid shifting the moment of going to bed.

Leave the notebooks to the mistresses

Doing the class or preparing the child for school activities is not your role. Could you leave it to the professionals? Trust them. It will secure your child. Read stories, tell stories, play, but not to the mistress.

A well-balanced diet

We all relax in the summer. Picnics, sodas, pizzas, and other ice creams were also a delight for the little ones. Producing from holiday is a good time to apply reasonable solutions. Fewer starches, more vegetables, and fresh fruits. Unprocessed and straightforward products for snacks and as much as possible with meals. Watch out for the cookie cupboard, the sodas, and the overly sweet candies.

A good breakfast still contains whole milk, bread, a little fresh butter, fruit if you can. The cereals that children like so much are too sweet and do not prevent the 10 a.m. hollow. Ideally, the spread should be limited to Sunday, for example. Avoid sending him to school on an empty stomach. If time ran out, the child refused to eat because he was anxious, take a snack to eat on the way or a bottle.

In many schools, a small snack is distributed in the middle of the morning because many children do not eat enough. For the two main meals, keep informed of the canteen menus to vary the evening meal and not restore excess protein.

The cleanliness

If it is not entirely acquired, do not dramatize, it will undoubtedly not be the only one of the class. Spare clothes are provided for accidents. The discovery of small toilets often serves as a trigger because it is fun to use them! Choose clothes that are easy to take off, such as pants with an elastic waistband.

Tiredness

Living in a community, getting used to noise, following school activities may tire your child a lot at first. In kindergarten, naps are sometimes long. Do not shift dinner or bedtime. If the child sleeps too much in class, remember to go through the public garden box before going home. He will be delighted to take advantage of the outdoors and exercise if the weather permits.

Separation and reunion

The first morning can be tricky. Take the time to go around the class together, then explain to him that you are leaving him at school so that you can find each other better afterward. Give him landmarks that he can identify: before lunch, after a nap, or after a snack, if he stays late at school. Let him know who will pick him up and what will happen next before he goes home.

Respect punctuality and learn to trust

Kindergarten is an excellent contrast for your kid and you too. Growing up, he may not want to tell you everything or will only remember a few moments. Trust the people who will take care of your child throughout the year, make it easier for them by being punctual and cooperative. Respecting the child's specific needs in terms of sleep, food, and lifestyle is to help him get through the course in optimal states. Also Watching: The Soft Roots
